Hello, I am Nan Zhao. I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a specialization in treating depression, anxiety, substance abuse, work/career-related stress, and intimate/family relationship issues. I have worked with clients from various cultural and racial backgrounds and it has always been my passion to deliver culturally sensitive care to all of my clients.
I’m bilingual and bicultural in English and Mandarin Chinese and have experience providing therapy in both languages. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, and got my master’s degree in clinical psychology from University of San Francisco.
I was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gottman Method for couple therapy, and Mindfulness Stress Reduction techniques (MBCT). I can provide individual therapy, couple therapy, and family therapy.

Kaiser Permanente
Before scheduling psychotherapy or assessment/evaluation services with us, all clients need a verified external referral from Kaiser after their screening. Please contact your Kaiser clinic for processing. If you do not have the referral, Kaiser will not reimburse your fees. If you have an older referral, we advise you to call the clinic to confirm it is still valid.
Other Insurance/Self Pay
We are out-of-network providers for all other insurance companies. If you use our services, you will be expected to pay the full fee yourself. We offer you Superbill receipts for the service you receive from us, and you can submit them to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Most insurance companies may cover part of the fee (50-80% typically) for out-of-network providers like us.
