Hello! I am Minty, a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in NY/NJ State and National Certified Counselor. I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health from Long Island University and an Ed.M in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University. I have clinical experience in the hospital psychiatric department, a community outpatient clinic, Brooklyn public schools, and a medical practice in Manhattan.

I specialize in working with young populations (6-35 year old), focusing areas: anxiety, depression, intimate relationships, academic or work stress, self-exploration for young adults (18-35); social anxiety, identity crisis, low self-esteem for adolescents (12-18); and adjustment issues (such as parental divorce, bereavement), emotion regulation, and behavioral problems for children (6-11).

I received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child and Family Therapy, Relational Psychodynamic approaches, and Sand Play therapy. I value the experiential experience and emotional abreaction in session to promote cognitive and behavioral change. I will help you develop a “reflective mind”; gaining increased awareness of your life and self. When working with children, I use play therapy and art therapy in addition to talk therapy.

I am dedicated to providing a space that is nonjudgmental, supportive, and grounded—a sanctuary where you can feel secure enough to explore emotions that might be too painful to confront in your everyday life; where you can feel at ease and freely reveal your authentic self.

Kaiser Permanente for CA Clients

Minty is currently in-network with Kaiser. Before scheduling psychotherapy or assessment/evaluation services with us, all clients need a verified external referral from Kaiser after their screening. Please contact your Kaiser clinic for processing. If you do not have the referral, Kaiser will not reimburse your fees. If you have an older referral, we advise you to call the clinic to confirm it is still valid.

Minty is currently an out-of-network provider for all other insurance companies. If you use our services, you will be expected to pay the full fee yourself. We offer you Superbill receipts for the service you receive from us, and you can submit them to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Most insurance companies may cover part of the fee (50-80% typically) for out-of-network providers like us.
